Life’s Best Chance

Soil tilled in days gone by
A violent rending of settled ground
Readied for the coming seed
That holds the future blessing
Scattered seed finds a fertile field
Sun and water join the dance
Upheaved soil holds new promise
As yet unseen but sure to come
The brutish labor ripped the landscape
Beauty turned and churned to pieces
Preparing the way for life’s best chance
The sower knew it all along
