Feasting with the Enemy

I have feasted at the tables
Of the enemies of God
Their fare was tempting
Pleasing to the eye
Enticing to the tongue
Unholiness was the theme
Of every lavish spread
But subtle was the impact
And the cost came not until the end
I realize now the emptiness
Of food not born of heaven
My spirit withered deep within
As my tastebuds ruled the day
Forgive me, Lord, and feed me
With true bread sent from above
Give me Jesus to heal me
And bring me back alive
Turn my mind to solely want
The righteous feast you offer
Strengthen my soul with goodness
And satisfy the hunger of my heart
